The New "Blackest Black"

Artists take note! MIT engineers have created a new material ten times blacker than the previous record holder, Vantablack. The new “blackest black” absorbs 99.995% of incoming light.

Vantablack, the previous record holder for the blackest black, just met its match. MIT engineers inadvertently created a material they say is 10 times blacker than any other to date, capturing 99.995% of incoming light.
