Yumiko Glover

Artist Bio

Yumiko Glover was born and raised in Hiroshima, Japan. She received her BFA from the University of Hawai’i in 2011, and with the Chancellor’s Fellowship, she completed her MFA from UC Santa Barbara in 2017. Glover has exhibited her artwork in solo exhibitions at the Brian Ohno Gallery in Seattle, Washington, and at the Glass Box Gallery at UCSB, as well as curated group exhibitions at the Chicago Urban Art Retreat Center, the Honolulu Museum of Art’s exhibition Modern Love: 20th Century Japanese Erotic Art, and the Honolulu Museum of Art’s 2013 Biennial Artists of Hawai’i. Glover was selected as one of the Top 25 Fine Artists for the 100 Best Annual 2014 & 2015 issues of the Creative Quarterly, the Journal of Art & Design. Glover’s most recent work, Transience, is exhibited at the Los Angeles International Airport through December 2018 as a part of the Wild Blue Yonder exhibition. She is currently the artist-in-residence for 2017-2018 at UC Santa Barbara.
